June 28 thru July 4 As we honor national heritage and liberty, we also celebrate our nations local independent businesses who have given so many citizens opportunity and underpinned and underwritten community life and prosperity.
It is also a time to consider the independent decision-making ability each of us possesses to choose the future of the place we make our home.
Get to know your neighbors and help celebrate our Independents!
Independents Week highlights the value and contribution of locally owned, independent businesses to the community and our local economy.
Schedule of events:
- Sunday, June 28, walk for Independent Businesses in El Paso. 7:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m. Scenic Drive (west side entrance).
- Tuesday, June 30, Homegrown Businesses will set up vendor tables at Cohen Stadium. The Diablos play Whichita, 6:00p.m.-10:00pm. First 100 families receive a free shopping tote, compliments of Homegrown El Paso.
- Wednesday, July 1, take your family out to lunch or dinner at the following restaurants and 10% of your ticket will be donated to the Opportunities Center for the Homeless, a non profit, transitional center, for the Homeless in El Paso:
- Ardovino's Desert Crossing
- L & J Cafe
- Sorrento's Italian Restaurant
- The Lancers Club
- Thursday, July 2, Wet & Wild will give a $5.00 discount to anyone who has a Homegrown Business register receipt. Check our web for a list of members. www.homegrownelpaso.com
- Saturday, July 4, Homegrown business owners will march in the West Side, Fourth of July Parade.
